Perfect Day!!!

The other day was such a great day, there was a slight breeze, the sun was shining, and we had nothing to do, so we decided to go out and fly kites. The boys had a great time because last year when we took them out to fly kites they didn't have the same success as we did this time. They ran all over the place, and were able to get the kites going all alone (when it crashed). They were so proud of their kites and they only had one small tangle that worked itself out on its own.

The East side of our house is so perfect for the kids to fly kites because there is a whole field for them to fly over and not one wire in sight.

Happy Easter!!

Our Easter festivities started Saturday morning at the annual Easter Egg Hunt put on by the Burley Hospital. This year they did it a little different for the youngest age group(0-2 yrs.) and I wasn't to impressed with it because they just had them all wait around a roped off area and when the siren went off we just had to walk our kid(s) up to some people who gave them 1 egg and a little toy or small handful of candy. That really took the fun out of having all the kids run around to get their own eggs. Greyson didn't seem to care to much though he just wanted to go see the Easter Bunny and Duck that were walking around. Ian on the other hand was so funny when it was time for him to get his eggs. We have laughed every time the video has been played. He could have gotten a fare amount of eggs if he would have stayed in one place but he was having too much fun running around.

We were visited by the Easter Bunny himself while we were at Davids parents house. He brought us some MORE candy and all the kids took their turns at giving him big hugs.
Easter morning was a big surprise for the boys, the night before I think they had forgotten that the Easter Bunny was coming and I wasn't about to remind them due to the fact that they would have been up way to early to see what they got. They each got some toy golf clubs and haven't put them down since. It is funny though because they don't play with the stuff they just haul them behind them where ever they go.

To end our Easter activities we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt but this time it was at Beno and Brandi's house instead of at Delia and Alvino's because they blessed their baby Hayden at church and then had the first barbecue of the season afterward. The weather was actually pretty nice other then a slight breeze but it was a great day to be outside spending time with family and friends.

Pre-Easter fun

For FHE we had a little message about our Savior in order to remind us about the true meaning of Easter, then we had a really fun activity to decorate Easter buckets for the kids. The boys really loved doing the project, especially putting the stickers on their own buckets where ever they wanted.

They were so proud of their work that they wanted to show them off. This was really fun because they got to choose what they put on their buckets, plus their buckets were unique compared to other kids at the egg hunts.

Of course we have to do the egg painting. Ian really liked getting creative this year and went for the double colored eggs.

Greyson as you can tell really got into his coloring as well. He colored eggs like he eats, he usually has a spoon in hand but uses the other hand to eat.

SLEEPOVER!!

The other day we thought it would be fun for the boys to have a sleepover with some of their cousins. Ian has gone to Avery and Tuckers for a sleepover before so we planned on having them come over and invited Braxton too. We ordered pizza for dinner and had banana splits for dessert. You might also notice that Ian has toilet paper stuffed in his nose, this is due to playing rough with four other kids.

After dessert, David put on some music for the kids. They had tons of energy so what better way to wear them down then with some dancing. They all got pretty into it except for Braxton, he was quite content with just watching everyone else be silly.

Once all the dancers calmed down, David read everyone a story and then it was suppose to be lights out and eyes and mouths closed but the two youngest ones, Greyson and Tucker, thought they needed to stay up and talk like a bunch of teenage girls. Needless to say, the sleepover went pretty well, but I had a couple of tired boys the next day.

The Country Life is good!!

The other day I was in the kitchen and happened to look out our back window and seen something I had never seen before. In the field behind our house there was three huge birds hanging out. After doing some research, I discovered we had three Sand hill Cranes visiting us. The boys were really excited to see something new. I just love to live in the country, because you get to see all kinds of wildlife. For example, while we were building our house David seen a fox running around, and just a few months ago we had over 200 geese sitting in the same field behind our house. Usually in the Spring time, we also get to watch some robins trying to make a nest on our barbecue grill on the back deck. It is really fun for the boys to watch all these things.

Tortillas!!

The other day David was very happy, because I made some homemade tortillas for the first time. My Mother-in-law bought me this really cool tortilla machine that made the process much easier than the traditional way of doing it. I am afraid that I might be making them more often than I hoped to, but it isn't too bad, it only took about 25 minutes to make a couple dozen.

They even came out pretty round for a first time

Playdough Time!!!

The boys are always asking if they can play with the playdough that they got for Christmas. They haven't played with it since the first day they played with it, which is when they got it. It has been on the shelf in their closet, but they still see it and we finally broke down. When we bought it we were unsure we wanted to buy it because it is "playdough", however, we bought it because it was a really good price and it had lots of fun stuff in it.

You will often see Ian in his pictures with his tongue out, this means he is really concentrating.

They were so proud of what they made. It worked out great because they stayed busy for at least two hours.
