Pre-Christmas Fun

Just before Christmas, for FHE we all took the trip out to the South Hills for the awesome light display, and "Bull" the camel.

The boys were so excited and didn't want to leave when we were done, they wanted to go back through again.

This is just one corner of the beautiful display

Greyson was a little unsure but went ahead and fed Bull a carrot anyways. The camel had to be the highlight for the trip. He was so friendly and anxious to get a carrot from each person that wanted to give him one.

This picture is not of the girl standing there, she just happened to be there, it is Ian's had that is at the bottom. Ian really liked Bull and wanted to keep feeding him snacks.

This is the bunch of kids that we took the adventure with, and we didn't even loose one of them among all the crowd.

Christmas cookies!

We went over to David's Brother's house the other day to make some Christmas cookies and the kids all got to help and make their own. They really enjoyed and thanks to Grandma Molina they each had their own apron to wear. Ian didn't end up eating his cookie because he said he didn't like it. He isn't always into eating sweet things, he is a strange kid some times.

Christmas Season!!

The other day for FHE we all had made some stamped and stickered Christmas cards and we took them to an old folks home to say Merry Christmas. The kids were excited and had a pretty good time.

At our ward party the boys got to see Santa and I bet they talked his ear off, because they have plenty of things that they think they need to have from him. They both did just fine with Santa and were excited to talk to him.

The Childrens Museum in Seattle

After Thanksgiving in Othello, we went to Seattle to visit my Sister and her family, we spent a little bit of time checking out all the cool and fascinating structures then we went to the Children's Museum. We spent a few hours in there and the kids never got bored. It was full of fun things for the kids to do and learn. The highlight of Ian's day had to have been the kids Construction Zone, he wouldn't let us leave till we finished his dog house. Greyson's favorite thing had to have been the Sesame Street Area full of educational and interactive stations about the human body. It was really lots of fun for us to see the kids have so much fun, in fact we had to keep them moving from station to station or we would have never seen the whole place. Thanks Jamie for taking us there! Next time it will have to be the Aquarium that we had to skip this time.

Space Needle and Surrounding Sites

As part of our Thanksgiving Vacation we spent our last night in Seattle and here are some of the great sites we got to see. We think that Seattle looks much better at night than during the day. This was David's first time in Seattle and we couldn't let him leave without going up the Space Needle. It was really neat be there during the Christmas Season because of all the nice decorations on display.

To top off the night we all celebrated my parents 29th Wedding Anniversary by going to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Congratulations Mom and Dad!!

Box boys!!

Have you ever bought your kids something and they fell in love with the box instead???? We sure have seen that before, however that isn't the case here, but these boys love to play with boxes. They have box forts that they are proud of too. Here, they have made themselves into special packages for mom!! What great packages for me to have delivered.

Preschool Projects!!

Preschool has been really fun for Ian, he really loves going. He loves his teacher, and his classmates, it is always fun for him to see some kids from his class out in public, he gets so excited about it. Last month they got to go on a field trip to the pumpkin patch and he was so excited when he brought home the permission slip that he told us exactly what the note was for. So far, he has learned up to the letter "H" and does pretty good with them. It has also been fun for me to be able to make some fun treats to take for school when it is Ian's turn to take treats.

Harvest/Halloween

It is such a fun season. Canning for the first time, going to the pumpkin patch, going to the straw maze, Halloween parties, and costumes.

Canned some salsa verde, green tomato rasberry jam, and red salsa. Also from our first garden we got to freeze tons of corn. I would have to say it was a successful year with our first time.

You can't go a year without going to the pumpkin patch even though you grow some of your own pumpkins.

The kid maze was a real hit with the boys!

Thanks Grandma Koyle for finding the costumes, the boys were so proud to show off their muscles.

We were known as "D&M Destroyers" David's Name tag read "Dangerous D" and I was "Maniac Mike" It was pretty fun except for the fact that David wanted to carry his bowling bag everywhere that day.

Potty Trained

It has been much harder to get Greyson to figure it out than it was for Ian. We didn't do things any different with the two, but we have discovered that Greyson is not as ambitious or motivated as Ian was. It has been about a three month or more journey with Greyson and Ian picked it up in a week. It is fun, however, to have different personalities with these boys.

Success is sweet!!!

Even though it was an exhausting road.

First Day of Pre-School!!

Our Ian is now old enough to start school. He could have gone to kindergarten this year but we decided that it would be better for him if he went next year. He was so excited to start yesterday that he was up a few times in the night talking to us about going. He really liked his teacher, Miss Andrea, and knows only one other boy in the class.

I got this backpack last year in Seattle and Ian was excited that he finally got to use it. He wanted to fill it up with stuff to take with him like: pictures he colored, a pencil he got from church, and a water bottle in case he was thirsty. Me being the mean mom didn't let him though.

Ian wasted no time in making himself right at home. He was so over taken by all the toys there were to play with that I was surprised to actually get a kiss goodbye.

An outing at Story Book Park!!

So on Monday we got to go to Story Book Park for our friends little girls birthday party and I think the boys thought they had died and gone to heaven. I don't think that we have ever been there with the boys. They wanted to go and play instead of participate at the party. We stayed there awhile longer after the party was done to let the boys take it all in. It is such a cool place to let your kids play at. We will definitely have to take them back.

Wow what a Summer it has been!!!

This Summer has been so busy and so fun. It has kept us on the run nearly every weekend, doing something. There has been softball, yard work, county fair/rodeo, gardening, birthdays, swimming, and camping trips.
We have been involved in a co-ed tournaments for a couple of years now and this year have been able to come away with some hardware in 2 out of 3 tournaments. We love sports and have such a good time doing it.

The boys have been really interested in watching the rodeo this year, so we have been able to enjoy the rodeo this year for the first time since we have had kids. P.S. Thanks to grandma Koyle for the use of the hats in the pics.

The kids have been so excited this year with the success that we have had in the garden. We have done pretty well for first timers even considering the rough start we had. The boys love to go pull carrots and beans and really love the daily check on their corn(as they would call it). The kids are so excited to see what the phrase "fruits of your labor" actually means.

The boys' birthdays are so close together that we find it to be much easier to have a combined party. This year they really tested my skills and patience when they said they wanted a Spiderman birthday cake. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself, and it was hard to see all my hard work eaten up in just minutes.

It was nice for the kids to have friends and cousins out for the party to enjoy.

We had a great weekend up at Indian Springs with both sides of our families. We enjoyed the warm water even though it was a little chilly with the wind when you got out of the water. My boys are fish. They were in the water for about six hours one of the days, I couldn't believe it. Needless to say they slept pretty well.

They boys have always been the outdoors kinda kids and they really love to sit around the camp fire and cook smores and hot dogs. The boys also enjoyed doing a little fishing in the nearby creek. The fish were really small and we just had to let them go, but it was pretty fun anyways.

Well since the last time we blogged it has been busy, we have been fishing a few times , camping, T-ball has finished, picnics, a little bit of softball, yard work, and some home projects to get our house ready because we hosted the 4th of July celebration this year. It has been so fun.

Greyson is so ready to play baseball like his big brother.

Ian was disappointed that T-ball was done for the year.

Another Black Birthday!!!

Well here was another surprise 50th Birthday party done well. This time was my Mom's time to shine. We were lucky to plan an outdoor party and it was great timing since we had horrible rain for several days now.

We were able to get most of the local family together for a lunch party at the park.

She got a warm welcome from the grand kids.

T-Ball Time

Well the time has come again for T-ball. Initially I didn't plan on the coaching job again, so I could better watch my own kid play, but, here I am again helping out. This year has been a rough start for the season, since the first 3 of 5 games have been canceled due to rain. Ian has been so excited for t-ball to start, and he was heart broken when the games got canceled. In the two games we have had, it has been fun and the kids were excited to play.

Here is Coach and the team.

This years kids are so much more ambitious than last years kids, and every time a ball is hit, almost every kid runs after the ball. It usually makes a wild pile of kids, but they really enjoy it.

Ian is so into what he does sometimes and we caught this before one of the games. He said he wants to do his best so he can win the championship, so he was stretching out before playing.
